My new book with O’Reilly on Facebook development using FBML, entitled “FBML Essentials” goes to print this week. This is a technical book, but I have written it so that even the most beginning web developers, to the most experienced Facebook developers should be able to understand it. Simple understanding of HTML and Javascript is all you should need to not be lost in this book. This should be a good read if you are looking to learn more about Facebook development for your organization. Check out my post on StayNAlive.com for more information!

Hi, I just received the FBML book and am trying to go through the “Hello World” “step 2″.
I created an FB account, set it up as a developer account.
I don’t see a “get started” in pink, nor can I find this “add facebook developer” icon
I’m stuck, help!

John,
The link names have changed a little bit, but there is a link to start as a developer on that page. Also, skip the steps where you create the developer account - Facebook just recently forced developers to create applications with their real accounts so you’ll need to add the developer app with your real account instead of doing it with a fake account like I was recommending. If you see any other inconsistencies please let me know, as I’m going to add those to http://page.fbmlessentials.com.
