I got an email from Pizza Hut on Saturday night, and it had this:
A Pizza Hut Facebook Group? Is it working for them? Check this out:
Amazing. There are over a thousand wall posts, videos, etc. I love it. Check it out here.

That’s an awesome number of fans! The real question is… does it turn into increased sales?
Would you say that it was the email that was the answer to the increase in the number of fans?

Hey Dana, I’m not sure how they got that number of fans, but I can only guess the outbound email campaign helped. This add was about 2/3rds of the way down, so it didn’t have significant placement.
I’m guessing they already had some kind of advertising on FB without the email… but it’s a good example of using non-FB tools/tactics to to complement your FB strategy.

Jason…
One more question. When you clicked on “join today” did it take you to the page or did it have you join the page just by clicking? I’m wondering if I can eliminate one click.
Thanks,
Dana

Dana, when you click the ad it takes you to the Group page, but you are not automatically joined as a Group member. You have to add join the Group … which is good… if they automatically joined you I’d be suspicious of their tactics, but they aren’t doing that.
